What happened
Green Dot Assist is a generative AI assistant on Starbucks store iPads that helps baristas look up recipes, standards and procedures, find ingredient substitutions and troubleshoot equipment. It is part of CEO Brian Niccol's Back to Starbucks plan. When Starbucks retired its Automated Counting inventory tool in May 2026, reports said the company was still using Green Dot Assist.
