What happened
The Chrome Security team built a Gemini-based agent harness in early 2026 to find vulnerabilities, then added agents for triage, candidate fixes, review and test writing. Google says LLMs now generate candidate fixes for most vulnerabilities, and Chrome 149 and 150 fixed 1,072 security bugs, more than the prior 23 milestones combined. Developers still review and approve fixes. Google also estimates automated triage saves hundreds of developer hours a month.
