What happened
Denver launched Sunny in February 2024 to answer questions about city services in 72 languages, and the mayor's office says it and other digital tools handle 40% of 311 contacts. On October 13, 2026 the city council rejected a nearly $4 million five-year contract extension, citing accuracy problems and residents wanting a real person. The current contract is paid through the end of October, and the mayor's office says it will try to get the contract back on track.
