What happened
BBVA partnered with OpenAI in May 2024 and gave employees 3,300 ChatGPT Enterprise licences to explore the tool. A year later it expanded to 11,000 licences, citing demand from business areas across its countries. The bank says users report saving an average of 2.8 hours a week, 83% use it at least once a day, and staff have built more than 3,000 custom assistants.
