Agentforce service agents for refund processing, multi-intent customer email resolution, passenger name changes and a knowledge agent for service staff
Agentforce has helped reduce Air India's internal refund processing time from approximately 14 days to about 4 hours. Bank processing time remains unchanged. From the source, 2026-09-15
What happened
Air India first used Salesforce Agentforce for refund processing, which Salesforce says cut the airline's internal refund handling from about 14 days to about 4 hours, with bank processing time unchanged. On Sept. 15, 2026 it expanded to multi-intent email resolution, name change automation and a knowledge agent for service staff, with emails answered automatically only above a 95% confidence threshold and human oversight where required. Salesforce says name changes fell from about three days to 30 minutes. This is separate from AI.g, the Azure OpenAI virtual agent already on the site, and the announcement is vendor-published.
