What happened
Agicap, a treasury management software company, built a conversational assistant into its product so users could ask questions in plain language instead of navigating dashboards. CEO Sébastien Beyet said customers tried it out of curiosity but very few came back to use it regularly, so the company put it aside. He also said that in finance the risk of hallucination was not acceptable and results need to be explainable. Agicap now focuses its AI on tasks such as transaction categorization and bank reconciliation.
